The contactangle is a key parameter to assess the quality of self-assembled monolayer coatings(SAMs). On open surfaces, it can easily be measured, but it is not directly accessiblein closed microfluidic channels. However, a variety of applications rely on definedand homogeneous SAM coatings. Therefore, the goal of this internship is todevelop a technique to determine the contact angle in channels, using a fluidflow, with a contact angle profile as a result. After optimization, the coatingswill be used to attach biomolecules, such as antibodies and DNA oligomers, witha high relevance in biosensor development and cell sorting.
