Introduction

The Wafer Table and Clamp Analysis Group at ASML focuses on improving the performance of wafer handling in lithography systems. As an intern, you will help analyze how wafer clamps influence accuracy, productivity, and system availability. This Data Science | Engineering internship: clamp performance modeling contributes directly to understanding performance drivers using data and predictive models. Your assignment

In this Data Science | Engineering internship: clamp performance modeling, you will work with performance data to improve predictions of clamp behavior and wear. You will analyze historical datasets and enhance an existing machine learning framework. Your work will help teams take better decisions that improve system performance. Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Analyze historical clamp performance data and identify meaningful patterns
  • Classify data fingerprints linked to performance and wear effects
  • Improve and validate an existing machine learning model
  • Design and develop tests to evaluate prediction accuracy
  • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret results and refine models
  • Document findings and present outcomes clearly

This is a master's apprentice internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of September 2026 (Earlier is possible)

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:
  • Are pursuing a master's degree in data science, physics, computer science, mathematics, or engineering
  • Have experience with programming in Python or similar languages
  • Have basic knowledge of machine learning methods and data analysis
  • Communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken
  • Show curiosity, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
